The History of VW

Volkswagen are a German motor manufacturer with headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany; the largest car-making manufacturing plant in the world. The company was founded in 1937 and post-war became a global brand with its most famous models being the VW Beetle and VW Golf. Volkswagen was generally regarded as a symbol of German post-war regeneration. Since its inception, VW has become one of the world’s most recognisable brands and has won numerous awards.

VW’s association with the world of motorsport began in 1973 when they started to compete in the world rally championships. Between 1973 and 1990, different models of the VW Golf were used in competition. However, the VW motorsport team left the sport until 2003 when they made a comeback by participating in the Dakar Rally. 

Since returning to the sport they have claimed three wins in the Dakar Rally. They returned to the world rally championship with the VW Polo where they continued to compete until the end of the 2016 season.

FORMULA SUSPENSION/TRACK ROD ENDS – VW GOLF MK3/4 (PAIR)

Our formula suspension track rod ends feature a fully adjustable steering link and an 18,000lb loading spherical joint. These parts are a direct replacement and offer precise steering and a more positive connection. They come with all associated hardware as well as safety and installation instructions.

Owing to the inherent warping issues with one-piece discs, Compbrake has combined two excellent products, the Powervane Rotors and the Compbrake Bells, to create a two-piece solution. As with all our products, this brake disc conversion kit is manufactured using only top-quality materials and designed using our state-of-the-art CAD in-house software.
