The History of Lancia 

Lancia founded in 1906, was the brainchild of two Fiat racing drivers Vincenzo Lancia and Claudio Fogolin. The first car they manufactured was the Tipo 51, a name used later on a Fiat model. Lancia became part of fiat in 1969 and when they acquired a stake in Chrysler, the Lancia brand included rebadged Chrysler models. Some of the best known Lancia models include the Lancia Appia GTE, Lancia Fulvia Sport, Lancia Delta and the Lancia Ypsilon.

Over the years, Lancia has enjoyed regular success in the world of motorsport, especially rallying. Lancia also participated in Formula 1 for a short period in the 1950s however its main focus in motorsport has always been on rallying. A number of drivers won the world rallying championship driving a Lancia. Lancia has also won the manufacturers’ championship on a number of occasions.
